Lori's Nightmare How to Play as Nightmare
TV patrols, down pressure, and every Unleash window in the playable alpha.
The Nightmare in Lori’s Nightmare is the single hunter on a seven-player Roblox server. Your job is to stop Children from restoring the target CRT count, convert downs into deaths, and let the eight-minute clock expire. You do not win by standing in a closet. Camping is penalized. This page is the killer playbook. Children-side answers live in how to play as Children. Objective math lives in how to restore TVs.
The experience is a playable alpha by acorn dreams. Four Nightmares are in the shop. Confirm a cooldown on patch notes if a video disagrees with the numbers below.
How the clock works against you
Children start with about eight minutes. Each restored TV adds roughly fifteen seconds. Each unsaved death subtracts about ten. If they hit the TV target, an escape route opens and you have to collect bodies on a moving exit, which is worse than interrupting the fourth CRT. Patrol unfinished televisions. A Child who is clicking orbs is a Child who cannot loop. A Child who is looping in a dead wing is already wasting their own clock; do not donate chase time there unless you need the down to stop a save.
Three missed clicks on a TV already reveal a repairer. Walk toward pings. If you arrive and the screen on their side is grainy, they should already be leaving. Cut the closet, the prone gap, or the stair, not the empty CRT.
Pressure without camping
Downed Children show a heart and a bleed-out timer. You can stay just long enough to deny the first hero, then rotate to the next unfinished TV. Hovering a body until the penalty hits is how you lose Hotel games that were already won. After a kill, the victim gets a thirty-second ghost state; they will call your last wing. Leave.
If you disconnect and nobody takes the killer slot, a bot named Roytt patrols. If you are the human Nightmare, do not play like Roytt. Roytt walks. You should path through TV clusters, then check the most common revive room on the current map. Hotel is the layout you will hunt most. Orphanage is the only map with secret spots; check those once per circuit, not every ten seconds.
Grainy overlay is your terror cue. Use it. If two CRTs are humming, hit the one closer to completion or the one with Coby on it. Coby’s +10% repair passive is the quiet reason you lose on time.
Free Nightmare: Mind Trap and Unleash Nightmare
Mind Trap stops Children. The trap lasts 90 seconds and the cooldown is 60 seconds, so you can keep a lane covered if you place it on a stair, a Hotel corridor choke, or the last walk to a known CRT, not in a random lobby corner. Unleash Nightmare grants extra speed and tracking for 12.5 seconds on a 110-second cooldown. Spend Unleash when two Children are on one TV, when a save is stacking, or when you need to cross the map after a ping. Do not Unleash the first Child you see at 7:50.
This kit teaches the whole role: patrol, trap a route, convert a down, rotate. Learn it before you buy Carnivore.
Carnivore: Eat Meat and Unleash Meateater
Carnivore costs 1350$. Eat Meat lets you eat a downed Child, cut the timer, and gain speed on an 89-second cooldown. That is your anti-Gus button. If a Helping Hand Support is hovering, eat the body and leave with the speed. Unleash Meateater is a 15-second frenzy that ignores stun on a 110-second cooldown. Hiro’s Sword Strike and Pigi’s Bear Trap bounce off that window. Pop Meateater when you see a Sentinel holding a doorway, not when you are already in an empty hall.
Carnivore wants downs in the open. If Children keep dropping in closets, force them out with Mind-Trap-style pathing even though you do not have Mind Trap: cut the other door and make the save walk into you.
Phantom: Sabotage TV and Unleash Spectre
Phantom costs 2500$. Sabotage TV drops the percent on a nearby unfinished television (66-second cooldown). This is how you beat Coby and TVE without winning a sixty-second chase. Walk the TV wing, sabotage the hottest CRT, and leave. Children who re-tunnel a slumping box are giving you a ping if they miss, or giving you time if they stay. Unleash Spectre is 12.5 seconds of speed plus ignore doors on a 101-second cooldown. Use it to cross locked Hotel wings and Orphanage secrets, then immediately hit a CRT or a stacked save. Spectre is a map-hack, not a victory emote.
Tarantula: Shoot Spider Web and Unleash Spider
Tarantula costs 5000$. Shoot Spider Web lays a web and a stun cocoon on a 45-second cooldown. That is your Mind Trap with extra hold. Place webs on stairs, closet exits, and the last hallway to a CRT. Unleash Spider lasts 12 seconds, adds speed, and leaves webs, with a 120-second cooldown. Unleash through a populated wing so the leftover webs keep working after the speed ends. Tarantula owns Hotel corridors and loses in wide Daycare rooms if you throw webs at nothing.
What Children will throw at you
Spy will flash your location for six seconds. Play like they already know the wing; do not fake a long rotate after a Spy ping. TVE will snap to an unfinished TV; sabotage or intercept that CRT. Pincat decoys run the opposite way; look at the clone’s path, then take the other hall. Dani and Peri go invisible; hold likely doors instead of swinging at air. Daisy’s shield lasts 3.5 seconds; wait it. Maggi puddles slow you; break line and re-enter. Luna Ghostifies through doors for ten seconds; Spectre or a web on the far side beats chasing the fade. Maou self-revives on a 100-second cooldown; treat a Maou down as a pause, not a secured kill, unless you can eat it as Carnivore. Azazil fireballs stun; Meateater ignores stun, other kits should not tunnel Azazil through a hallway of orbs.
Full Child kits are on the Children roster. Killer rankings are on the Nightmares tier list and the Nightmares roster.
A simple killer loop
Spawn. Walk the nearest TV cluster. Place your map control (trap, web, or sabotage). Take the first chase that is already on a CRT. Down, deny one save, rotate. Unleash only when two objectives overlap. If the escape opens, cut the route you learned on the maps guide, not a random closet. Binds are on the controls page. If you are still learning the lobby, start from Getting Started and the Guides Hub.
Daily quests sometimes ask you to kill five as Nightmare or play Nightmare once. Do those on Hotel. There are no live promo codes as of September 2026; coins come from play, dailies, and the coin farm tool, not from invented strings on the codes hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Children, Nightmares, codes, and maps.
Does camping work as Nightmare?
No. Camping is penalized. Down, deny one save, then patrol unfinished TVs. Objective pressure is explained in how to restore TVs.
Which Nightmare should I buy first?
Learn the free Nightmare first. Carnivore (1350$) is the first paid hunter if you want Eat Meat. Compare kits on the Nightmares tier list.
What does Unleash do?
Each killer has a unique Unleash: speed plus track, stun-immune frenzy, door-ignore speed, or web-laying speed. Do not pop it at 7:50. Details are in the sections above and on the Nightmares roster.
What is Roytt?
If the Nightmare player leaves and nobody takes over, a bot named Roytt patrols. Human killers should still path TVs better than the bot.
How do I stop Coby from finishing every TV?
Hit the CRT they are on, or play Phantom and Sabotage TV. Children repair rules are in how to play as Children.
Where should I learn map routes?
Hotel first, then Orphanage secrets. The maps guide lists School, Daycare, Hospital, and looping notes.
