Patch Notes

acorn dreams does not publish Steam-style patch notes for Lori’s Nightmare. This page is a reconstruction from platform timestamps, shop observation, and public event trackers — and it is labeled as such. If a row would require guessing a version number, the row is omitted. Pair it with the updates hub for the short timeline and with events for banners that are not patches.

The game remains [alpha] asymmetrical horror: online, seven players, Children restoring TVs, one Nightmare hunting. Core match math that has been consistent across the dates below: eight-minute clock, +15 seconds per restored TV, −10 seconds when a Child dies unsaved. Controls stay WASD, Ctrl prone, E interact/hide, Q ability. Maps in rotation: Hotel, School, Daycare, Hospital, Orphanage. If those rules change, this page will say “changed” only after we can point at a date.

Dated facts, not version IDs

22 January 2025 — experience created. Roblox stamps this as the create day. The listing copy about a 1996 sleepover and institutional tapes is already present on later snapshots. This is not a “1.0” announcement and we will not write one.

December 2025–January 2026 — shop and event cadence. Public trackers logged a run of New Character / New Survivor / New Killer windows, a Christmas event 23–28 December 2025, a NEW KILLER window in early January 2026, and a New Content window in early January 2026. Those are timed banners, not patch files. Characters that arrived in that stretch entered the shop with coin prices. We do not have official bullets that say “added Tarantula, adjusted TV orbs, fixed prone.” Pretending we do would be fanfiction.

25 June 2026 — peak concurrent players ~7,479. Population spike, useful for knowing the game was heavily played, useless as a changelog. Whatever was in the client that week is what that peak audience queued.

2–3 July 2026 — last known platform update. Roblox “Updated” metadata and tracker FAQs agree on this window (2 July on the experience page snapshot, 3 July on at least one tracker). We do not have the patch body. It may have been a silent fix, a shop flag, or a client bump with no design change. Until acorn dreams posts a sentence, this row stays a date without a feature list.

September 2026 — this writing. No live event. No live codes. Shop prices used across the wiki: Spy 50, Pincat 500, Maggi 700, Pigi 1000, Azazil 1,000,000, Carnivore 1350, Phantom 2500, Tarantula 5000. If you see a YouTube thumbnail with “PATCH 12 NOTES” and a numbered list of buffs, that creator invented the number.

Shop drops are not patch notes

A new Nightmare in the killer panel is a content drop. It can happen while the platform updated-at stamp stays still, or it can share a week with an event banner. Record it on the Nightmare roster and the Nightmare tier list. Do not back-port it into a fake “Patch 7: added Phantom.”

Same rule for Children. Maggi at 700 and Pigi at 1000 are prices, not evidence of a named balance pass. Spend order still lives on coin farm. Gameplay how-tos stay on how to play Children and how to play Nightmare until a dated change contradicts them.

How we will add a future row

A future patch row needs at least one of:

  • A group shout or Roblox description change we can quote from acorn dreams
  • A platform updated-at change plus a reproducible in-game diff (new map, new shop SKU, timer change)
  • An event tracker window with a name and a start/end, which then also goes to events

It does not need a version integer. If we cannot quote or reproduce it, it does not go in the table. That standard is why this article is shorter than a fake 2,000-word “complete patch history.” Length without sources is how wikis contradict themselves.

Check getting started after a real bump in case lobby UI moved — that is where a redeem box would appear, not in a changelog we speculated. Scripts that hook TVs will break on unnamed entity changes; that is a scripts warning, not a patch bullet.

We will not invent patch numbers. If this page looks sparse next to other Roblox wikis, it is because those wikis guessed and we did not. The July 2026 date is the last platform stamp we trust; the rest of the live game is what you see in the lobby shop tonight.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Children, Nightmares, codes, and maps.

What is the latest patch version?

There is no public version number. The last known platform update is around 2–3 July 2026.

Did the July 2026 update add a new killer?

We do not have official notes for that bump. Killers have been appearing through the shop and through dated event windows instead.

Where can I read acorn dreams' own changelog?

They have not posted a full changelog. Watch the [group](https://www.roblox.com/communities/35527978) and the links hub.

Did match timers change?

As of this writing the loop is still 8 minutes, +15s per TV, −10s unsaved death. We will date a change if that math moves.

Are event banners the same as patches?

No. Banners are timed. See events for the expired December 2025 and January 2026 list.

Will codes be listed in patch notes?

If a string ever ships it will go on the codes hub, not inside a guessed version file.
