Lori's Nightmare How to Restore TVs
Orb clicks, three-miss pings, star combos, and when to drop a CRT.
Children win Lori’s Nightmare by restoring 1990s CRT televisions, not by looping Hotel forever. Each finished TV adds about fifteen seconds to an eight-minute clock. Hitting the target count opens an escape route. Dying without a save subtracts about ten seconds, so a greedy minigame that gets you killed can erase the bonus you just banked. This page is only the CRT. Role play sits in how to play as Children. Killer answers to these boxes sit in how to play as Nightmare.
The game is a playable alpha on Roblox by acorn dreams, seven players online. Numbers below are the current minigame rules.
Starting a CRT
Walk up to a dark television and press E. That is the same interact used to hide in closets, so do not mash E in a hallway full of lockers if you meant to start a tape. WASD still turns you; Ctrl still prones you out of the animation if you need to leave. The controls guide is the bind list if E ever feels sticky.
TVE (300$) locates one unfinished TV every 50 seconds. Press it when the lobby is lost, not when two CRTs are already singing. Coby (50$) is the quiet repair kit: +10% restore speed, always on. A Coby on a safe CRT is often worth more than a Pincat decoy on the other side of the map. Prices live on the Children roster.
The orb minigame
The CRT plays a click-the-orbs tape. Hit the orbs. Missing is allowed in small doses. Three missed clicks reveal your location to the Nightmare. That ping is louder than a bad footstep. If you have already missed twice, your next click is a decision: take a high-percentage orb or drop the TV and leave. Dropping is not failure. A pinged Child is a downed Child.
Combos matter. String hits and a star minigame can spawn. The star is extra progress and extra risk. Coins drop on streaks, which is why a clean CRT pays twice: time on the clock and shop money. Three wrongs on that later minigame temporarily lock the TV. A locked box is a wasted wing. Do not slam the same CRT after a lock; rotate, then come back when the lock drops.
Phantom (2500$) can Sabotage TV and drop percent on a nearby unfinished set. If a bar you were winning suddenly slumps, that is not lag. Leave, start another CRT, or wait for the Phantom to rotate. Re-tunneling a sabotaged box is how you donate a three-miss ping. Killer-side sabotage timing is in the Nightmare guide.
When to stay, when to drop
Stay if the wing is quiet, you have zero or one miss, and your screen is clean. Drop if the overlay goes grainy, if a teammate is downed on your path, if you are one miss from a ping, or if the star minigame is already going badly. Grainy means the Nightmare is close. Closet (E) or prone (Ctrl) beats one more orb.
Do not stack three Children on one television unless you are finishing the last box and the killer is in another building. Two people on one CRT can be correct with Daisy’s Safe Space (shield 3.5s / 60s) covering the last orbs. Three people on one CRT is a food pile for Carnivore Eat Meat and for Unleash windows.
If a teammate pings, that TV is now a trap. Either take the chase away from it or let a Sentinel (Spy, Pigi, Hiro) hold the door. Spy’s Locate Monster (6s / 35s) is the cheapest way to know whether you should sit back down.
Time math and the escape
Round length is about eight minutes. +15s per restore, -10s per unsaved death. That ratio is why a Support who saves three people can outweigh a Survivalist who never touches a CRT. Gus (+100% revive speed) and Ricci (Heart Seeker pull, 99s) exist so the lobby does not bleed tens. If the target count is done, stop opening new boxes. Walk the escape. A last-second down still subtracts time you may not have.
Daily quests often ask you to complete ten TVs. That is a streak quest, not a reason to ignore grainy overlay. Finish TVs in live rounds, then use AFK Void on a private server only for the slow coin trickle (about one coin per 30s). The coin farm tool ranks Void against real restores. There are no live promo codes as of September 2026; the codes hub will list a string if an event actually drops one.
Map sense for CRT routes
Hotel is the most common map and the one whose TV wings you should memorize first. School and Hospital read as long corridors with CRTs at the ends. Daycare is wider and easier to get flanked while clicking. Orphanage is the only map with secret spots and includes a lobby-like room; check secrets for a hidden box, but do not live there while the rest of the team is on a public CRT. Layout notes are on the maps guide.
A practical Hotel loop: start the nearest CRT, drop at grainy, take a closet or prone gap, rotate one wing, start the next box. Mind Trap (free Nightmare, 90s trap / 60s CD) and Tarantula webs live on stairs between those wings. Pre-think the leave path before you press E.
Team jobs around a television
One Child clicks. One Child watches a door or holds Spy. One Child is on another CRT. Everyone else should be either looping in a dead wing or walking a heart. Pigi’s Bear Trap (stun trap lasts 60s / 50s CD) belongs on the enter door, not on the CRT itself where a teammate can step it. Maggi’s slow puddle belongs on the killer’s only inbound hall. Acorn’s Stay Together (+10% nearby speed, 3.5s / 60s) is for the walk between boxes, not for standing still on orbs.
If you are new, play two rounds where your only goal is one clean TV with zero pings. Then play two rounds where you finish two TVs and one save. That loop teaches more than a 1,000,000$ Azazil buy. First-hour lobby steps remain on Getting Started. The Guides Hub indexes every how-to if you need controls or killer pages next. Compare whether Coby or TVE is worth your next coins on the Children tier list.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Children, Nightmares, codes, and maps.
What happens if I miss three clicks on a TV?
The minigame reveals your location. Drop the CRT and leave. Bind details are on the controls guide.
Why did a TV lock after I was doing well?
Three wrongs on the later star minigame temporarily lock that set. Rotate to another unfinished TV. TVE can mark one; see the Children roster.
How much time does a restore add?
About fifteen seconds. An unsaved death subtracts about ten. Hitting the target count opens escape. Round flow is also in Getting Started.
Can the Nightmare break my TV progress?
Phantom's Sabotage TV drops nearby unfinished percent. Do not re-tunnel a slumping bar. Killer tools are listed in how to play as Nightmare.
Who repairs TVs fastest?
Coby's Big Brain is a passive +10% repair. TVE locates an unfinished set. Rank those picks on the Children tier list.
