Lori's Nightmare Children Kit Rankings
High-impact peel first, fashion last. S through C plus one situational flex.
This page ranks every Child in Lori’s Nightmare by what the kit actually does to a chase or a television. Letters follow impact-for-cost, not how cute the model is. Pair this list with the Nightmare tier list so you know what you are buying against, and with the Children roster for cooldowns, quotes, and exact prices. Role labels (Survivalist, Support, Sentinel) are defined on the Players hub.
The round is eight minutes, plus 15 seconds per restored TV, minus 10 seconds on an unsaved death. Escape opens when the TVs are done. A kit that reveals the killer, stuns a chase, or finds the last CRT changes that clock. A kit that only looks fast in an empty lobby does not. Alpha numbers can shift; if a patch guts a cooldown, check patch notes before you rewrite your shop list.
S-tier — information and peel
Spy (50 coins) sits at the top because Locate Monster is six seconds of truth on a 35-second cooldown. You call the hunt, you stop teammates from tunneling a red TV while the killer is already in the room, and you still have a body for repairs. No other 50-coin kit comes close. Spy’s line is “I’m not scared, just cautious,” which is also how you should spend the ping: caution, not a suicide scout.
Pincat (500 coins) drops a decoy clone that runs the opposite way. Nightmares who tunnel movement waste a Mind Trap, a web, or an Unleash on a ghost. That is a full ability cycle you just deleted. Pincat is the reason a Sentinel does not need to win the chase — the chase just has to be wrong.
Maggi (700 coins) throws a cry puddle that slows. You do not need to win a stun minigame. You paint a floor the killer must cross to reach a TV or a downed ally. On Hotel corridors and Hospital halls, that puddle is a door.
Pigi (1,000 coins) plants a Bear Trap that can stun, lasts 60 seconds, and comes back on a 50-second cooldown. Pre-place it on the last unfinished TV, on a common doorway, or on the body you are about to pick up. Trap plus a restore attempt is how Children actually steal a round.
Hiro (2,250 coins) is the hard stun. Sword Strike on a 24-second cooldown is the cleanest “get off my teammate” button in the shop. Expensive compared with Spy, cheap compared with dying two more times. If your lobby already has information, Hiro is the peel upgrade.
These five are S because they answer the same problem: the Nightmare is allowed to ignore you unless you force a response. Read how to play Children so you do not waste the cooldown on a chase you already lost.
A-tier — always useful
Gus (100 coins) is Helping Hand: plus 100 percent revive speed, passive. The clock punishes unsaved deaths. Gus turns a down into a delay instead of a lost 10 seconds and a missing repairer. First Support you should actually buy.
TVE (300 coins) locates one unfinished TV every 50 seconds. “The tapes whisper when you’re not looking” is not flavor when the last CRT is in a wing nobody checked. TVE is the difference between a clean escape and a panic sprint into the killer.
Peri (400 coins) and Dani (700 coins) are the invis pair. Peri is Great Escape: two seconds of invis plus a burst, 60-second cooldown. Dani is Sneaky: five seconds of invis, same cooldown. Peri is the cheaper breakaway from a corner. Dani is the longer pass through a patrol. Both are Survivalist tools that still help the team because a living body can touch a TV.
Soni (500 coins) is Running Shoes: plus 0.75 movement, passive. No button to miss. Soni makes loops on School and Daycare honest. Not peel, but the cheapest “I stop feeding” upgrade after Spy.
Luna (3,000 coins) Ghostifies for 10 seconds and ignores doors on an 80-second cooldown. Phantom’s Unleash Spectre does the same from the other side. Luna is how you leave a dead hallway when Tarantula has webbed the only door.
Ricci (4,500 coins) is Heart Seeker: pull a random downed Child, 99-second cooldown. Pricey. When it hits, you converted a unsaved death into a body in a safer room. Ricci is A because the effect is unique, not because every lobby should rush it.
B-tier — learn, repair, or luxury movement
Lori (free) is Speedy: plus 50 percent move for two seconds, 30-second cooldown. “Nightmares make me scared of the dark” is the tutorial quote. Lori exists so you learn WASD, Ctrl prone, E hide, and Q without a 50-coin homework assignment. Stay on Lori until you can finish a TV under pressure. Then buy Spy. The beginner guide is written around that path.
Coby (50 coins) is Big Brain: plus 10 percent repair, passive. Honest Support. Loses the Spy argument because information prevents more failed repairs than a 10 percent buff finishes.
Acorn (400 coins) is Stay Together: nearby allies plus 10 percent speed for 3.5 seconds, 60-second cooldown. Group buff. Dead if your team is split across Hotel floors.
Daisy (400 coins) is Safe Space: a 3.5-second shield, 60-second cooldown. Buys a mistake. Does not stop a committed Unleash the way Maggi or Hiro does.
Bani (1,000 coins) is Trampoline Feet: double jump. Vertical Survivalist. Strong on maps with ledges, weaker when the killer already sees you.
Flynn (3,000 coins) is a Grappling Hook tool. Pathing toy. Wins a chase you already almost won. Does not locate a TV or stun a chase.
Wiz (2,500 coins) is Home Teleport on a 111-second cooldown. Panic button. Long cooldown means one get-out per hunt window.
Maou (5,000 coins) is Rebirth: self-revive, 100-second cooldown. Expensive insurance. A dead Maou still spent the coins a Pigi or Hiro would have used to prevent the down.
C-tier — niche
Bacon (10 coins) tracks allies for eight seconds, 30-second cooldown. “He just wanted to be our friend.” Cheap, and you still do not know where the Nightmare is. Spy at 40 more coins is the real friend.
Nobita (200 coins) is Worm: plus 45 percent prone speed, passive. Ctrl specialists only. If you already live in vents, it is fine. If you do not, buy Soni.
Mori (2,000 coins) Morphs into a teddy for 20 seconds, 80-second cooldown. Disguise. Nightmares who look at movement still click you. Fun, not a plan.
Situational — Azazil
Azazil (1,000,000 coins) casts Armageddon: fireballs that stun, 66-second cooldown. If you already own it, it is a real Sentinel button. If you do not, it is a meme. Do not stall your account on a million-coin flex while Spy, Pincat, Maggi, Pigi, and Hiro are sitting in the shop. Farm with the coin farm tool toward those five, not toward a sticker.
Buy order and team shape
Solo queue: Lori until you understand how to restore TVs, then Spy, then Maggi or Pincat, then Pigi or Hiro. That is Sentinel-first, and it wins more rounds than a full Survivalist closet.
Duo or six-stack: one Spy, one stun (Pigi or Hiro), one revive or retrieve (Gus or Ricci), and the rest on TVs. Acorn and Daisy only after those cores exist. Luna and Flynn are map-specific luxuries.
Against S-tier Nightmares from the Nightmare rankings: Phantom wants TVE plus a stun so sabotage does not eat the last CRT. Tarantula wants Maggi puddles and Luna so webs are not a hard lock. Carnivore wants you to stop feeding downs; Soni and Peri matter more than another trap if the lobby is already on the floor.
Same-category pairing: Children ranks only tell you half the shop. Read the Nightmare tier list next, then confirm numbers on the Children roster. Hub overview stays on the Tier List hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Children, Nightmares, codes, and maps.
What is the first Child I should buy?
Spy at 50 coins. Locate Monster is six seconds of killer information. Stay on free Lori only until you can finish a TV. See the Children roster for the exact cooldown.
Why is Hiro S-tier if Pigi is cheaper?
Pigi is a placed stun with a 60-second trap window. Hiro is a hard stun you aim, on a 24-second cooldown. Different peel. Buy Pigi first if you pre-plan TVs; buy Hiro if you peel chases.
Is Maou worth 5,000 coins?
Usually no. Rebirth is B-tier insurance. Pigi, Hiro, Luna, or Ricci spend the same coin range on peel, doors, or body retrieve that prevent the down.
Where does Azazil sit?
Situational. Armageddon stuns if you own the kit. The 1,000,000-coin price is a flex, not a progression goal.
How do these ranks change against Phantom or Tarantula?
TVE, Maggi, Hiro, and Luna climb because sabotage, webs, and door phase punish kits that only run. Cross-check the Nightmare tier list.
Do I need a script to play S-tier kits?
No. These ranks assume default controls. If you still look at executors, read the scripts hub and how to execute separately from this list.
