Maps Guide

Lori’s Nightmare rotates five layouts in its playable Roblox alpha: School, Daycare, Hotel, Hospital, and Orphanage. Hotel is the map you will load most often. Orphanage is the only map with secret spots and includes a lobby-like room. Learn Hotel, then add the others. This page is geography. Binds stay on the controls guide. CRT rules stay on how to restore TVs.

Rounds still last about eight minutes on every map. Restores still add about fifteen seconds. Unsaved deaths still subtract about ten. Escape still opens when the target TV count is done. The difference is how long a chase lasts and how many stairs a Mind Trap can cover. Developer is acorn dreams. Servers are online, size seven.

Hotel (learn this first)

Hotel is corridors, stairs, closet clusters, and CRTs tucked in rooms off the hall. That is why it teaches the whole game. Nightmare Mind Trap (90s trap / 60s CD) and Tarantula webs own stairs. Children should pre-plan the leave path before pressing E on a television: closet, stair, then a Ctrl prone gap, not a dead-end bathroom.

Play two Hotel rounds as Lori where your only goal is one clean TV and one closet exit. Then play one Hotel round as free Nightmare where you only patrol unfinished CRTs and never camp. Those three games beat a week of random queues. Killer patrols are in how to play as Nightmare. Child chases are in how to play as Children.

Pincat decoys work here because halls actually split. Luna Ghostify (ignore doors, 10s) and Phantom Unleash Spectre (speed plus ignore doors, 12.5s) both cross locked wings that Hotel loves to create. Flynn’s Grappling Hook and Bani’s double jump help on vertical stairs; they do not replace learning the floorplan.

School

School reads as long wings and classrooms. CRTs often sit at the end of a hall, which means a three-miss ping is a death sentence if the Nightmare is already on that wing. Drop the TV earlier than you would in Hotel. Ctrl gaps between furniture are your real loops. Spy’s Locate Monster (6s / 35s) is worth the 50$ on this map because information tells you which wing is already cooked.

Sentinels should put Pigi traps on stair landings, not inside a classroom where a teammate sprints in. Maggi puddles belong on the only door into a CRT room. Coby’s +10% repair is strong if the wing is actually clear; it is bait if you start a classroom box while grainy is already creeping in.

Daycare

Daycare is wider, more colorful, and easier to get flanked while you stare at orbs. Closets still exist, but the open rooms punish tunnel vision. Take shorter CRT sits. Daisy’s Safe Space (shield 3.5s) is more valuable here because the hunter can see you from farther away. Acorn’s Stay Together speed pulse helps a pair rotate across the open floor.

For Nightmare, Daycare is where mindless webs fail. Place Mind Trap or Spider Web on the choke into a play room, then Unleash through the open space. Carnivore Eat Meat is nasty on Daycare downs because the body is often in the open and Gus has a long walk. Do not camp the body; the penalty still applies.

Hospital

Hospital is another corridor-and-room map, closer to Hotel than Daycare, with longer sightlines down wards. Treat it like Hotel with fewer closet gifts. TVE’s Locate TV (one unfinished / 50s) is a good panic button when two wards look identical. Wiz Home Teleport (111s) can reset a bad ward if you bought it; it is not a Hospital-only trick, just a long cooldown you should not waste on a 7:40 curiosity.

Hiro Sword Strike (hard stun / 24s) holds a ward door. Use it to cover a last CRT or a revive, then leave. If Carnivore pops Unleash Meateater (15s ignore stun), that sword bounce is wasted. Walk.

Orphanage (secrets live here)

Orphanage is the only map with secret spots. It also has a lobby-like room that can fool new players into thinking the round has not started. Check secrets once per circuit for a hidden CRT or a hide, then return to public rooms. Living in a secret while the rest of the team is dying on a public TV is how you lose on time.

Phantom Unleash Spectre and Luna Ghostify both matter more here because doors and secrets create false dead-ends. Mori’s Morph teddy (20s prop / 80s) can hold a secret corner while a teammate finishes a box; do not morph in the lobby-like room where everyone looks. Ricci Heart Seeker (99s) can pull a downed Child out of a secret the rest of the stack cannot find. That pull is random, so it is a panic Q, not a planned route.

Nightmare players should check secrets once, sabotage or trap the obvious CRT wing, then leave. Standing in a secret waiting for a Child is camping with extra steps, and camping is penalized.

How to practice a new layout

Queue until you get the map. Walk the nearest CRT. Name one closet cluster, one Ctrl gap, and one stair out loud. Play the round. After the match, write which of those three saved you. Repeat. The Getting Started checklist still applies: Lori first, Spy or Coby next, Hotel hours before Orphanage hours.

If the Nightmare disconnects, Roytt the bot will still patrol. Use the same loops. Ghost state after death is still thirty seconds; spend it calling which wing the hunter or bot actually walked, especially on Orphanage where secrets hide bodies.

Shop picks that change with maps

Hotel and Hospital reward traps, webs, and decoys. Daycare rewards shields, information, and short CRT sits. School rewards early drops and prone. Orphanage rewards door-ignore kits and one secret check. None of that replaces the TV minigame. Compare buys on the Children tier list and Nightmares tier list. Coin pacing, including AFK Void at about one coin per 30s on a private server, is on the coin farm tool. There are no live promo codes as of September 2026; see the codes hub.

Event map chatter, if a weekend modifier shows up, will land on events and patch notes. Community Discord is reached from the Roblox game social links on the Discord page. For the full how-to index, go back to the Guides Hub.

Which Lori's Nightmare map is most common?

Hotel. Learn its stairs, closets, and CRT rooms first, then add School, Daycare, Hospital, and Orphanage.

Which map has secret spots?

Orphanage is the only map with secret spots. It also has a lobby-like room. Check secrets once per circuit, then return to public TVs.

How do controls change per map?

Where should Nightmare put Mind Trap on Hotel?

On stairs and corridor chokes between CRT rooms, not in a random closet. Camping is penalized. Full killer routing is in how to play as Nightmare.

What should Children do differently on Daycare?

Take shorter CRT sits and expect flanks in open rooms. Daisy and Spy help. Role notes are in how to play as Children.

Is the game local co-op on these maps?

No. Lori's Nightmare is online multiplayer, seven players per server, playable alpha on Roblox. First-hour steps are in Getting Started.
